What’s your power supply situation? My Joyo had zero noise problems with cioks isolated power supply and 1spot I’ve seed videos of some faulty pedals, if yours has beeping noise with any power supply, send it back

@@guihagel2220 der Sansamp war bei mir immer leicht angezerrt. So dass er clean ist wenn ich soft spiele, wenn ich etwas härter anschlage, etwas verzerrung kommt. Den bk3 habe ich als klassischen verzerrer benutzt.

@@M.Holland vielen Dank! Wie weit drehst Du Blend auf? Mit Blend experimentiere ich noch zuviel... daher meine Frage.

@@guihagel2220 meistens hab ich den Blend Regler ganz auf. Hätte ich jetzt mehr Drive, würde ich den Blend etwas zurückdrehen.

It seems like hi boost doesn boost highs on my unit, only adds more dirt gain boost maybe brightens it a bit, so I used it instead

@justaddsomeecho got it! They probably mis labeled or something. I have the double thruster and the gain boost is a low boost realy

Yeah, I just got the Sansamp and it's quite impressive for 30 year old circuit I think Joyo is supposed to sound similar to DG alpha/omega ultra, which has softer distortion compared to B7K

Wholeheartedly agree. With all the hype that it gets, I was disappointed by the DP.

yep, I replaced stock clipping diodes with LEDs and changed some capacitors for less bass rolloff

thanks !! I see you chose a self-biased cascode, did you try a fixed-bias one ? it should sound somewhat more like an EF86 (in theory :) ).

I've not tried fixed bias cascode mainly because self-bias is a bit more simple and sounds great(I believe, Carr Artemus uses similar topology). I don't think that sound difference would be possible to detect because the first stage is mainly operating in linear region with typical guitar signal.

justaddsomeecho I'm pretty sure self-bias sounds great ! but I think there would be a difference in the playing feeling : somewhat the same difference between a 12AX7 and a EF86 input stage (as I have both, I can tell there is a real difference, the EF86 is not "better" but ... different :) ). it was just to know if you chose this topology in comparison of a fixed-bias cascode. do you have the Carr Artemus schematic ? I can't find it :/

Welll, maybe. Typical EF86 and 12AX7 stages have different gain, so the differences are obvious. I tried also EF184 stage, it has way more gain that EF86 and, as a result, totally different feel. I traced the Carr schematic myself based on some photos I found on the web pp.vk.me/c620720/v620720783/c592/aNPYBKkx6hI.jpg I'm not sure about it completely, but the first stage is correct.

+Dave Rocks it's a rangemaster "range" control - it gradually blends in more low frequencies at the input of a circuit so rangemaster acts more like a full range boost
